Well, my husband left for New Orleans this morning. He won't get back until Friday (ugh)! I think he knew I needed to 'store up' some energy, so yesterday he took the kids out with him while he ran errands. I was in the house by myself. Ahhhh. That does not happen very often. What did I do? I watched "The Queen" with Helen Mirren. And I thought my job as the queen of my household was hard? I loved it. I am an anglophile so I was soaking it all up. I didn't realize that the film was going to be about Princess Di's death and how the Queen responded. It was still a good movie, I just thought it would be about other things. I did learn some things about the Queen that I didn't know, however. 1) She was a mechanic in the war -if you can believe the movie and 2) She couldn't vote. I did like how they portrayed her as very practical and a can-do person. The makers of the filmed must have adored Diana because she was held in a very good light. And they totally loved Tony Blair.
All in all, a good film.

I've been wanting to see that movie...I'll have to rent it sometime.
I got that movie for my Mom for her birthday. In fact, I got her a whole ton of English-inspired items because she loves ANYTHING British.
