I feel like I'm in a funk. It's been that way for two days. I don't want to go outside and I don't want to see people. I don't know why I'm this way--there's no particular reason. What I do know is:

  • I haven't been working at the hospital lately and it's bugging me. I'm going to have to confront my section head one of these days to see what's going on and I don't want to. How long can we pretend? Every time I ask about filling in, she just shrugs and says she will have to wait and see if the new girl needs the time.
  • I'm reading a heavy book right now and I can't put it down. Have you read The Kite Runner? It is amazing. But, it's serious. It's definitely making me think (maybe that's the problem!)
  • My relationship with my daughter seems really good right now. I just love 7 year olds!
  • My son is going through a "phase" and I don't like it. This, too, shall pass (I must remind myself of this daily).

It looks like we're not going anywhere for the long weekend next weekend. I'm bummed about that. Oh well. I hope the baby sitter can watch the kids so we can at least go out to dinner. It's not NYC, but hey, you take what you can get.

I loved the Kite Runner - my Nan gave it to me last year. I have just bought the sequel, which she'd told me is very good too - I just need to get in the right frame of mind to start it.
You're right about this just being a phase for Clayton - it should pass by the time he's 18 or so. So hang in there!!

I think a lot of it has to do with this weather. I absolutely hate this time of the year because I have no motivation at all once I get home from work. I just want to crawl under my covers and stay warm. My to-do list is extremely long, yet I never seem to cross anything off of that list.

I think we should plan to be in NYC sometime at the same time so we can get together!

Hey Kelly! I thought I was the only one who liked to hibernate at times. I have days when even answering my phone seems like a massive chore! The best way for me to get out of it is to arrange a serious pamper session. Either a manicure or a new hairdo or a coffee date with a friend. Me time always fixes things for me. Hope you kick the funk's butt soon x
